Independent Publishing

Independent Publishing is different than print on demand. An example of print of demand is iUniverse Inc, where someone pays a hefty fee to get whatever it is they want published.

Independent Publishing is where one or more small staff create a publishing company and are involved in every aspect of the trade. For example, to become an independent publisher one must contract graphic artists, web designers, book printers and proof readers. In addition the warehousing, distribution, public & media relations, financing & accounting are all in the hands of the independent publisher. It’s a big job with a steep learning curve but the end result is indescribable. I have included some helpful resources I have found as an independent publisher in hope to help other independent publishers. The book published by NB Scribbler Publishing Co. is titled Archangels in Battle: Franz Josef’s Legends of WW II. It is about my grandfather’s experiences in WW II and writing it was one of the greatest priveleges of my life.
